What We Do

We offer a variety of services and programs for the Israeli community in Toronto.

We provide social services including; initial and follow-up meetings with new immigrants, personal and family counseling, help with job search and networking, educational advice and assistance with school-placement. We also maintain a fund for emergency financial assistance (The Ten Yad Fund).

We have programs for Bar/Bat Mitzva preparation and marriage preparation which include lively and interesting discussion groups. We run ongoing classes in a variety of subjects at different levels.

Our Bet Knesset for Hebrew-speakers holds Shabbat and Holiday services open to Israelis from any religious background. Our popular Sunday morning prayer and brunch provides an opportunity for men to establish a weekly Jewish connection and socialize with other Israelis. Many unaffiliated Israelis choose to celebrate Life-Cycle events in our welcoming Hebrew-speaking environment.

Several times a year we organize interesting and informative lectures in Hebrew delivered by guest speakers on a variety of relevant topics like; health, anger management, alternative medicine, national security, child-rearing and relationships. We also hold family holiday celebrations on Chanuka, Purim, and L'ag B'omer.

We maintain contact with members of our community through our publications,'Likrat Shabbat,' 'Fax of Life,' guides for the Chagim, and a decorative Art Calendar. We also produce a weekly TV show, and a weekly email newsletter. If you would like to receive any of these publications please contact our office at 905-709-7770.

Once a year we hold an elegant fund-raising event, The Spirit of Community Dinner, hosting between 900-1,200 guests of different backgrounds, who gather to celebrate the caring connection that is at the heart of our community
